Wi-Fi & Smart App Guide

DUNAVOX WiFi wine cooler controlled from a smartphone app

Selected DUNAVOX wine coolers can connect directly to your home network, letting you check and adjust temperature, lighting, and modes from your mobile—whether you're in the next room or another country.

Wine remains in optimum condition only when its environment does, too. A connected wine cooler takes away the guesswork: instead of walking over and checking the display, you can simply open the app and instantly see what's happening in every zone. This page covers how DUNAVOX WiFi works, which models support it, what you can control remotely, and how to set it all up in just a few minutes.

01

What WiFi Connectivity Means on a DUNAVOX Wine Cooler

The WiFi module is built into the appliance itself, not added as an accessory. The cooler joins your home network directly and communicates with the Smart Life app, available for iOS and Android.

Two wireless systems work together. Bluetooth Low Energy takes care of the pairing process: before the cooler is connected to WiFi, it broadcasts its name, type, and unique identifier so your phone can find it instantly—no need to search for a temporary hotspot manually. Your home's network name and password are sent to the appliance over Bluetooth, then the wine cooler switches to WiFi for everyday use. After pairing, Bluetooth is no longer needed: the connection happens through your router.

No hub, no bridge: the wine cooler speaks to your router directly
Two radios, one setup: Bluetooth to discover, WiFi to manage
The display remains active: connectivity is an addition, not a replacement for on-appliance controls

Which DUNAVOX Models Have WiFi and Smart App Control

WiFi is available on models with a TFT or LCD touch screen. It’s a model-specific feature, not a series-wide one—so within some collections, only select finishes are built on the connected platform; others stick to previous specifications.

What You Can Control

There are two different control platforms across the range, and they are not identical. Appliances with TFT and LCD touch screens share the same connectivity, but some settings differ. The list below describes features your appliance offers; the table indicates any features unique to a certain platform.

FunctionDetail
Temperature by zoneAdjustable by single degrees. On dual-zone models, the upper covers 5–10 °C, the lower 10–18 °C; factory defaults are 6 °C and 12 °C. Single-zone (like Spirit 19) are 5–18 °C, default 12 °C
Operating modeStandard, Eco, and Demo on every connected model. Sabbath Mode is only on TFT models
Lighting durationFollow-the-door, 1 minute, or 30 minutes for all; TFT models include always-on, LCD models 24 hours
Lighting brightness50%, 75%, or 100%. Factory default is 75%
Lighting colourThree preset colours. TFT models: white, blue, warm white. LCD models: white, blue, orange
Display unitCelsius or Fahrenheit
Control panel lockLocks the on-appliance panel to prevent accidental changes
DUNAVOX tip
Before your guests arrive, lower the serving zone by a degree or two while you’re still on your way home. The cabinet cools gradually, rather than straining at the last minute—exactly as a wine cooler should.

How to Connect Your Wine Cooler to WiFi

The first two steps are the same for every connected DUNAVOX appliance. Step three—putting the cooler into pairing mode—depends on your display. Have your WiFi password ready before you start.

Step 1 — Install the app. Download Smart Life from the App Store or Google Play, or scan the QR code in your user manual.
Step 2 — Create an account and join your home WiFi. Your phone must be on the same 2.4 GHz network you want the wine cooler to join, with Bluetooth turned on.

Step 3 — put your appliance in pairing mode. Select the method that matches your appliance.

TFT touch screen

Noble • Prime • select Flow, Grande, and Sera

On the display home screen, tap the WiFi icon.
Tap Connect. The appliance enters pairing mode.
If pairing fails, you’ll see a failure indicator—tap Reconnect to try again.

LCD touch screen

Spirit • Horizon

With the appliance powered on, press and hold the function button for three seconds.
Wait for four beeps. The button backlight turns on, confirming pairing mode.
The backlight turns off once the network connection is successful. If it fails, check your network and repeat.
Step 4 — Add the device in the app. Tap the plus icon, select Add Device, and the app finds the appliance automatically as an icon.
Step 5 — Enter your WiFi password. Stay near the appliance as pairing completes.
Step 6 — Done. The app opens the wine cooler control, and the appliance confirms with a display message or by switching the button backlight off.

The exact steps for your model can be found in its user manual under Product Support. There's also a quick guide on the final page of the model checker, so you can follow along on your phone.

05

Network Requirements to Check Beforehand

The most common cause of connection issues is the WiFi band. The appliance only connects to 2.4 GHz networks—by design, since 2.4 GHz travels through cabinetry and walls better than 5 GHz and delivers a more stable connection for built-in appliances.

Combined 2.4 / 5 GHz networks
Many routers broadcast both bands with a single network name. If pairing won’t complete, temporarily split them into two separate network names in your router, connect the appliance to the 2.4 GHz one, and later merge if you wish.
Bluetooth on your phone
Pairing uses Bluetooth Low Energy, so keep Bluetooth turned on and stay close to the appliance during setup.
Signal reach in cabinetry
Built-in or fully integrated units sit behind furniture panels. In larger homes, a mesh node or WiFi repeater near the kitchen is more reliable than repeatedly trying to pair.

06

Operating Modes

Remote control becomes genuinely valuable when paired with the right modes, especially for those who travel or use the appliance in business settings. All connected models have Standard, Eco, and Demo modes; Sabbath mode is only for TFT models.

Eco Mode — for time away
Eco saves energy by turning off interior lighting after three seconds, and the display about twenty seconds after the door closes, while keeping cooling normal. Turn it on as you leave on holiday and back to Standard when you return. On TFT models, lighting colour can't be changed in Eco Mode.
Demo Mode — for showrooms
Demo Mode stops the compressor but keeps the door mechanism, lighting, and display working. For retailers running several units on the shop floor, this can be set remotely without walking the entire showroom.
Sabbath Mode — TFT models only
On TFT touch screen models, Sabbath Mode turns off all interior and logo lighting and the display, but keeps the wine at the right temperature. Available only on TFT, not LCD models.

Learn about the interface in our TFT touch screen guide.

Your Data and the Application

The Smart Life app is designed and managed by an independent provider, not DUNAVOX. Creating an account and using the app is subject to their terms and privacy policy—please read these before registering. Connectivity is optional; every feature on this page can also be operated using the appliance’s onboard display. A wine cooler that is never connected will still function exactly as intended.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which app do I need for a DUNAVOX wine cooler?
DUNAVOX wine coolers with connectivity work through the Smart Life app, available for iOS and Android. You'll find a QR code in the supplied user manual.
Does a DUNAVOX wine cooler work on a 5 GHz network?
No. The appliance only supports 2.4 GHz WiFi networks. If your router uses a single name for both bands and pairing fails, temporarily separate them and connect the appliance to the 2.4 GHz network.
Do I need a smart home hub or bridge?
No. The WiFi module is built into the appliance and talks directly to your router. Bluetooth is only used briefly during pairing to let your phone find the appliance quickly.
Is the pairing procedure the same for every model?
For the most part, yes. Installing the app, adding the device, and entering your password are always the same. The only step that changes is entering pairing mode: TFT uses the WiFi icon on the display, while LCD models require holding the function button for three seconds, confirmed by a beep and lit backlight.
Can I change the temperature for both zones from my phone?
Yes, on dual-zone models, each zone can be set individually in single-degree increments, within the allowed range for that model. Single-zone models offer one adjustable range.
Do all DUNAVOX wine coolers have WiFi?
No. WiFi is available on models with TFT or LCD touch screens—the full Noble, Prime, and Spirit collections, Horizon models with LCD, and select Flow, Grande, and Sera models. Balance, Joy, and Home models have no connectivity.
Does my model have Sabbath Mode?
Sabbath Mode is included in TFT touch screen models. LCD models feature Standard, Eco, and Demo. See your specifications or user instructions for details.
Will the wine cooler work without WiFi?
Yes. Connectivity is optional. Every setting is available on the display, and cooling works regardless of network status.
What happens after a power cut?
A memory function saves your settings when power returns. Most outages are brief and will not harm the wine collection if the door remains closed.
